Here's a question: anyone ever dip a cigar in coffee??
Yesterday morning while wandering the streets of Barcelona I got an espresso at possibly then least touristy place in the city. Cobwebbed casks of wine covering one wall, ancient dudes sitting at upturned barrels, barista straight from an 18th century schooner etc. anyway one of the patrons took a cigar, which for some reason had a wooden skewer down the middle, and proceeded to dunk one half, then the other, then repeat, right in his little glass of black coffee.
He then slammed the coffee, tore the cigar in half and wrapped one half with a napkin.
I am not making this up btw.
I wanted so bad to take pictures but he looked like the type of character who had knocked out more than one nosy tourist...
At this point I was approached by a fairly aggressive homeless guy, which annoyed me mostly because I couldn't watch coffee cigar guy to see what the hell he was goon to do with a soggy, torn in half cigar.
Anyone have any idea what was going on?
    Lol Gracies!

Highly doubt he was going to smoke it, probably just gnaw on the end through out the morning.
One of my dad's coworkers does the same with coffee in the AM then bourbon in the afternoon. Guy will chew four cigars each day behind his desk.
Personally, not my thing. I believe it's a practice of previous generations and fairly rare today.

What does Wasaga mean? I'm in FLA for another couple of weeks...waiting for an order of Partagas D 4's and Montecristo petite edmundo's to come in. Can't wait! Smoking a cigar on the beach late afternoon is therapeutic ...

... Just figured out that Wasaga is a town in Ontario... I'm in south FLA . I have condo on the beach...

next time... I love chorizo with eggs but this trip just didn't have time for a proper breakfast with focus on tapas/seafood/jamon and sightseeing and only 36 hours, including 2 nights sleep + siestas, to do it in.

on topic: one Barcelona tobacco shop I stopped in had Cohiba Esplendidos for 27 Euros each. I still have a couple of these from an ex-girlfriend's cuban grandmother that brought me back a whole box in 1999 or so. The last couple of the five I kept for myself (sold the others to co-workers for $10 each) are still in a humidor that I haven't opened in probably 3 years.... wonder if they're able to be resuscitated have to check them out when I get home next week.

Depending on the level of humidity in your humidor , they can be brought back . You may have to wipe them down carefully to remove any mold that may have formed. Someone even told me to put dried out cigars in the freezer for a while to kill off any bacteria and then thaw them out. Hopefully the wrapper hasn't dried out to the point where it shows signs of cracking and unravelling... That's a nice stash to keep hidden for three years...

You can try re-hydrating them too if they are dried out. I haven't had too much success trying this but have heard of others that it worked for. There are different methods but I'd try just re-hydrating the humidor and letting them set for a few weeks or longer. If they aren't too dried out they might be ok.

Oh yes I think I got a nice selection! The Oliva V Melanio torped is one hell of a smoke. I had that a couple of times and once I am doing smoking it I usually smoke another cigar because it was so pleasent. Clearly I got a few Padron 64 and 26 but avoided the 64 45th anniversary. IT is good but at double the price I will pass.

Under that I got a feww OPUS X, cant ever not have those, Don Pepin blue label, and the Torano Exodus Finite 2013. REcommended that before so I bought a few. Tucked away in the dark under that is a King T by Fuente. Two different version of the Perdomo 2 a few Olive G cameroon in churchill.

One of my suggestions again, the Eiroa was smoked last night! I have a pair left but man this is a good little trust smoke. The big boy of the group is the white label Davidoff 25th Anniversary followed by the Nicuaraguan. Herrera Esteli Limited Edt Lancero are tucked on the side.

The final box has two 858 smokes and two that I have no idea he just recommended it for me. To finish it off I got the Camacho Equador and about half a dozen short story smokes!

This should hold me down nicely until I trade a few for cubans!

none of those were lost on me...I enlarged the photo to do a proper inventory:)

by the way, I am also glad to see it looks like you made room for the Fuente "Work of Art" or "Best Seller'...what a nice little smoke!!!
