It's quite the spot John, I would encourage it! BTW Kirk, how is the weather? I'll be seeing the beaches of Clearwater next weekend for a Bachelor's event.
I can't stand it, these arrived at the office today and it will be at least 4 hours before I can light one up. Macanudo Robust maduros in the green tubes were my personal favorite go-to but now discontinued... So I bought a box of these 1997 Vintage with the metal rings, for some special occasions upcoming with friends and family. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
good smoke! (Not a great photo. I went for a walk with the wife. She asked me what I was doing. I told her taking a selfie. LOL.) Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I've asked this before but who do you guys in the US trust when buying Cubans? I've only bought them once years ago from Cigars of Habanos. It went well but figure maybe there's a better source.
I got burned bad ordering from a European supplier. US Customs intercepted, they canceled my Global Entry and sent me all kinds of threatening letters. So even though it may be low probability, I don't want to go through that again. So now, I just pick up a box at duty free when flying back and take that route.
Really? Maybe I just got lucky. Perhaps a trip up to Vancouver is in order. Need to see if my passport is still valid?!?
I'm a cigar newbie. This is the start of my journey. My first humidor today! Just started seasoning. Sticks going in bags with Boveda until the box hits 70%. Excited. [emoji4] Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
May have to take you up on that after seeing the beer thread posts. Some food cigars in that batch. The flor de fine (furthest on the right on the left box ) is my go to stick. Oliva is great but i would be comfy when i light that. Good variety!
I had help from a friend that has more cigars than the cigar stores. He took me to http://villagecigarcompany.com/wp/ to get setup and spread around the styles so I can start and decide what I like. PS I don't post 10% of the beers I taste cause it makes me look like I have a problem. I got way way more styles... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've got denied Global Entry as well due to some boxes getting intercepted by US customs in SF years ago. They have & keep records of it. I'm going to have to have it sent to office with my vendor using a fake name. Mine vendor is in Hong Kong and that should tip you guys off on who it is.
Couple of my faves in there, the Flor Fina 8-5-8 and the Prensado are both great sticks. I prefer the 8-5-8 in maduro but great either way. Looks like some other good ones too. The Cain is about average and I've never been a huge Oliva V fan. But it's all about personal taste too. That looks like a great selection to start out and figure out what YOU like. Enjoy! Oh, and you'll need a bigger humidor than that before long.
