Lit up one of the Fuente Reservas last night. Tasty but it burned really ratty and at about 3/4 of the way through, the wrapper fell completely off. Tasted great, smoked pretty bad. May just need to sit in the ice-box-ador for a while. Hopefully this one is not representative of them all. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I am in Osaka for a few days and picked up this box of 10 short Trinidads in HK airport on the way out. Had one today with a breakfast beer, was pleased to discover a full flavour 7-8 minute smoke. The perfect accompaniment for izakaya hopping in the evenings. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Any of you guys ever buy through bid sites? I was at a local cigar lounge a couple weeks ago and picked up a Partagas Valle Verde stick for about $9; I’d been meaning to try one as I’m a fan of most things Partagas. I liked it, looked on cigarbids.com and lo and behold there were boxes of them in Robusto. I ended up getting 2 boxes at $62/each, so just over $3/stick. I’ve had a few now, am a happy camper. In AZ and sitting outside on a beautiful cool evening star gazing and listening to dogs and Coyotes talk to each other. Didn't bring any sticks with me but stopped by a little shop the other day and he recommended this and a couple others. I like trying new stuff. Just lit it so not sure how it'll be yet but ok so far. Having trouble posting pics for some reason but it's an Ashton.
Tonight just a Fuente Work of Art. Little bigger than a Short Story but just as tasty a little cigar.
And the view tonight....supposedly Jupiter upper right and Mars poking through the tree branch lower left. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Now that's interesting. I received a box of these not too long ago and thought they were quite unremarkable, if not disappointing. They burned well, but had no distinctive flavor or anything about them that would make me recommend or want more. Perhaps a bad batch or just not for my taste ?
It was ok but not great. I was out of town and didn't take any with me. So bought this one at a local place. I don't think it was that great for what I paid for it, think it was about $20. It is a very mild cigar but I didn't think it was bad though. I could see it at quite a bit cheaper price. The Fuente was the best of the three but I am a Fuente fan anyway.
The perfect December day for a smoke. Fluffy white snow and only minus 1 Celsius. I know we have many sunny weather smokers but one day I hope you can experience this! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pregame Christmas Eve with Eagle Rare and a Paratgas #4, probably downhill from here. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think I am gonna fire up soon. Portagas Gran Reserva. https://us.egmcigars.com/products/gran-reserva-de-partagas-serie-e-no-2-cosecha-2015?variant=43910596428033 I haven't tried one yet, today may be the day.
I’ve not tried a 400$ cigar in my lifetime. We are gonna need a thorough review of that smoke. Please keep us posted. I hope it lives up to the money.
Sir Winnie after taking dad out for dinner. He had a Partagas E2 from 2015. The Partagas was decidedly better, Winnie may have needed more age on it. Image Unavailable, Please Login
