Well i dunno where ya are but that is an amazing view!! Enjoy!! Nice day here so I did light a fire tonight. And grabbed this one that I bought while I was down in AZ. It started out a bot spicy but seems to be mellowing out well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That is Lake Atitlan Guatemala. We are here for a bit then heading to the coast for 3 days of bill fishing.
Was nice out yesterday, shoulda started a fire and had a bigger stick, but I didn't. Just had a Short Story for a quick smoke.
Beautiful day, low 70s today. Too much work done, cleaning the house out but it's getting close. So tonight, gotta get rid of the rest of my scrap wood so it's stogie and fire night. Chateau Fuente or something. Image Unavailable, Please Login
And two more days here before the big move. Still had some wood left and it was another perfect low 70s day. So grabbed this one tonight... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Got a friend who just went to San Diego and brought back some Camacho gordo sticks for me. Love this stick! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine was a bit more than that as it was several years ago but even then it was a spectacular value for an excellent driver's car. The interior paint issues and the window motors CONSTANTLY going bad took their toll for me lol. At 5k it'd be a LOT more tolerable.
I’d been looking forward to this since I booked this trip last year; having a cigar (Hemingway Best Seller fit the bill) and a pint of Guinness at Joey’s Bar in Ballymoney, Northern Ireland. A must visit for a fan of motorcycle road racing. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So am in the middle of moving to AZ. Brought my ice-box-ador with me. But man, I cannot seem to get the humidity level up to normal in it here. Have the big Cigar Oasis humidifier but it seems to be hanging around in the upper 50%-60%ish range at best. I know it's drier here than WA state, but didn't think it'd be that bad. Gonna seal the seams up a bit better and re-season the inside with some distilled water and a sponge for a bit. In the meantime my stash will move to some plastic tubs with Boveda packs for now. Haven't had time to sit down and enjoy a stick since getting here. Need to change that soon.
It’s not the classiest solution, but I’ve been doing the plastic tub and boveda pack thing for awhile now - ostensibly til I come up with a more permanent solution - but it’s been working well, right through a dry NH winter. Time to go have a cigar at your new abode
Yeah, I've never used the Boveda packs before but that's how I transported them all moving down here, in plastic tubs. So they're back in there tonight until I can figure out the humidor. I have the biggest Cigar Oasis humidifier so it should be able to keep up with it. I'm also wondering, it's getting older, if it's out of calibration. So will see what I can figure out with that too. No new abode yet, but looking. But I do need to have one at my temporary abode very soon.
It doesn't even matter much what you are smoking with a view like that. Well, I should be done with selling my house soon, if it ever finishes closing on the other end. Maybe Tuesday now. So I was in the area of a smoke shop that I stopped at a few months ago and stopped in again. Wanted a special smoke to commemorate selling the house and moving. Found it, probably the most expensive cigar I've ever bought. Just over $100 with tax out the door. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think that's the first cigar I've ever seen with a serial number. Make sure to fill out and mail in the warranty card in case it doesn't burn right! Seriously, hope your closing happens on Tuesday and the cigar is great; sounds like it'll be well-deserved.
Register it for warranty, funny. Actually I think most of the Padron anniversary cigars all have serial numbers on the bands. Some of my favorite cigars too.
Well, house sale fell through, buyers backed out at the last minute. I get their earnest money for the hassle, but I'd rather have the house sold. So not ready to light up the Padron 60th anniversary just yet. But I am gonna stoke something up here in a few. Oh, and I think I figured out the humidor issue. It is dry here, but that humidifier should be able to keep up easily for the size of my humidor. So bought a hygrometer and threw it in there with the humidifier running. Yeah, up well over 80% so the sensor is not working right. I think there's a way to recalibrate it but I just ordered a whole new one for a few hundred bucks. This one is pretty old and the display doesn't work perfectly any more anyway. Hopefully that'll solve the issues.
This sounds odd to even say, but it's a nice night out at about 90+ degrees at 9:00 pm. Grabbed a Fuente Flor Fina 8-5-8 and have enjoyed it. No cigar pic but it is a nice night out here. Image Unavailable, Please Login
