ike, i too was told that the tempus was the hottest stick on the planet. i trued them in various shapes and i was left lukewarm...good but not in the same league as an opus, diamond crown or padron aniversario.

I just smoked one of my favorites. Camacho Limited Harvest. I can't believe they stopped making these but they make those awful Camacho anniversaries.

...if they're any NC residents in this thread, wondering if anyone's been to Amara's cigar bar in Raleigh... I love the place personally. Very cool atmosphere.

I just got word from SMOKE magazine. That I'm winner of their guest reviewer. I've just got to wait until they contact me for working out the details.

I was at the Ritz last weekend and found one of these sitting in the firewood pile outside and only had been smoked about 1/2". Wondered if it was a bad smoke, the guy was in a hurry, drunk and forgot it or something else. Aren't they ~$35 each?

My wife said when I picked it up...."you're not going to smoke that are you!"

Hmm, interesting, I guess there are a few bad ones out there, everyone else here seemed to very much enjoy theirs. I will have to give it another chance when it is a bit warmer.

I envy all of you who can smoke inside during the winter, I have pretty much given up on going outside. I picked this book up a few days ago and really enjoyed it. It's simply called "Cigars" by Vahe Gerard, who owns quite a nice looking shop in Geneva. Had some great info in it for beginners and he also talks at length about some of the history behind cigars, which is very interesting. The book is split into 2 books, one covers history, technique etc etc and the other is a review of about 200 of Cuba's finest. The book is great because it covers pretty much everything, though it is aimed more for beginners.

I'm very partial to the AVO #3. Occassionally enjoy a Diamond Crown, or try something new, but always come back to the AVO. If you are ever in St. Louis, drop by "Town & Country Tobacco" in Town and Country, Mo.

Mark, next time you're in there ask for Jack. He's a friend of mine from HS, and a car/bike guy.

I got some great news today. My local cigar shop is expanding and opening a new location.

The new place is going to be abut 6000 sq ft and have a retail side and a private members area.

was working on posting a pic of my ACID Kuba Kuba and White Russian by the fire and the doorbell rang and it was an order I placed with Thompson a few days ago. How exciting!

A small humidor and some Rocky Patel Decade 10th Anniversary smokes. They look pretty dark to me and I usually like very mild as I get light headed so hope I like em!

The ones to the right I also got from Thompson called Whitehorse. My college roomate's last name is Whitehorse and he is getting married so I bought them in his honor. They are decent smokes. Not fantastic, but a solid smoke to give to friends at a bar that don't smoke much! A friend of mine that likes Romeo/Julieta liked it so....

Anybody smoke Trinidads? I had a few Cubans when I was in Europe and they were fantastic. I just ordered a few Habana Reserves, 100th anniversaries, and some churchill Maduros.
