I hope this isn't a repost but I was looking at some old tracks and found this website which has a lot of memories of the Old tracks in Europe.I would love to have enough time off and take a trip to Europe for a month to explore. Seems like im always busy and never have any time. Here is the website http://nl.msnusers.com/CircuitsofthepastEnglish .

There is an old site not too far from me, Marlboro. I saw Jackie Stewart driving a Lotus Cortina there in a 12 hour sedan race in the mid 60's. You can still see part of the track from Rt. 301.

If you want to get chills, stand at the bottom of the old banking at Monza.

I've made it a little hobby of mine to visit as many vintage tracks as I can. In a little over a week I'll be heading off to Europe to hopefully see some more. Of the 'Old' tracks I have seen the following come to mind:

    Rouen Les Essartes
    Nurburgring (including the south loop)
    The old Spa Francorchamps
    Riems
    Old Hockenheim
    Donnington Park
    Old Banking at Monza

I'm hoping to add Brooklands and Aintree to my list on this trip

I always make sure to go to the old banking early in the morning as the mist is rising. Be sure to go near the hour when you can hear the local church bells tolling; priceless.

Read Martin Brundle's book "Working the Wheel" for a first-hand account of what it was like to race on the great tracks, including many that have now been long removed from the Formula 1 calendar. Martin was a Formula One driver from 1984 to 1996, racing for Tyrrell, Brabham, Ligier, Benetton, McLaren and Jordan.

The chapters of his book are:

    Melbourne
    Rio de Janeiro
    Interlagos
    Imola
    Monaco
    Paul Ricard
    Montreal
    Detroit
    Le Mans
    Magny-Cours
    Silverstone
    Hockenheim
    Hungaroring
    Spa-Francorchamps
    Monza
    Brands Hatch
    Suzuka
    Adelaide

it's sad to say that i no longer think it's worth the hassle it causes me every year for the Adelaide track to be setup. even after we lost the F1, up until this year it was still almost worthwhile with the Nations Cup, but now it's just 4 days of V8 Taxi's.

send 'em to Mallala, let Adelaide drift back into it's peaceful slumber....

I think they should have a Formula 3 or F4000 race to make it worthwhile. At least we had the Formula Fords this year.

And bring back the Formula E 250cc Superkarts! When they ran as a support race to Formula 1, it was awesome!

F3 is really becoming a spectacle in Australia, and now it has the Gold Star it's the most important series in Australia IMO for up and coming drivers.

here are some of the 100+ photos I took at Mallala during the 2nd round of the Australian Motor Racing Series at Mallala a few weeks ago.

i remember the track. we went down a few times in the 60's. i saw peter revson, jim hall and phil hill drive there. it was a real treat for a young lad to be so close to drivers i'd only read about in car and driver mag. seems like a hundred years ago now.

Does anyone know how much a full year pass is for the Nurburgring?

And does anyone know if a member to the track can still mount a video camera?

    Thanks.

lol, you know me. Always gotta represent.

Hey why not? Portugal has great history of motor racing. Many tracks have disapeared including street courses raced by many great names......In many great Ferrari's. Do a search on Barchetta.cc. Type in Portugal.
