I just got the call today... Cirkit Vision will no longer be granted media access to FNA-sanctioned Ferrari events - like the F430 Challenge Series. The reason provided is that Cirkit Vision doesn't appeal to the same demographic(s) to which FNA is striving. In other words, FNA doesn't think that young, tattooed people will be putting down the kind of coin needed to acquire the cars they're selling. That's unfortunate - and a gross, negligent falsehood. I know many tattooed people, many young people, who own Ferraris - new ones.

Cirkit Vision will continue traversing the country - and soon, the globe - in search of new and exciting content. We will continue attending myriad Ferrari events. But hopefully, we'll be able to survive without the rich content we acquired at FNA-sanctioned events. I think we'll manage.

strange - I would think they would like as much exposure as possible - their prices pretty much sort and determine their purchasing demographic.

Geez... try getting access to an F1 race... They will "Ban" you too...

the definition of Media is changing but oh hell i should just shut up now.

You reap what you sow, if a manufacture sees value in the product they will allow access if they see no value... there is the door don't let it hit you.

Simple It is THEIR Call It is THEIR nickel If they don't want Carbie and co floating around it may not be just the outlet.

Hard to imagine that people who would wear a "**** you you ****ing ****!" t-shirt aren't who FNA wants around....

Yeah, it may not just be the outlet. I've been writing praise-filled articles about FNA events for over a year now. All of a sudden, they don't want me around...? Why, because I'm flanked by one of the world's greatest photographers and an amazing videographer...? Hmmm...

Yeah, I thought the same thing... Then I figured someone would chime in with some ridiculously condescending comment like yours and bring me back to earth. Thanks. :)

Bob, it's awesome to know who my friends still are. I appreciate that. :) I'll try and wear a not-so-provocative t-shirt next time I visit.

So how deep is the bucket you guys keep dumping money into for that "ecricket" concept? All I've seen is a fortune being spent on marketing and I've checked out the site and I just don't see the next myspace/cardomain/ferrarichat/youtube whatever... Who knows maybe I'm the only person that just doesn't have an interest. Good luck anyways.

Please, for discussion's sake, give me a list of these people who have a lot of sway at Ferrari that I've pissed off.

I also don't see what's come across as "big headed", but perhaps you could enlighten me with your interpretation.

Or it could just mean that satellite/cable/youtube/Euro/Asia just bought exclusive broadcast rights to FNA events.

You wouldn't expect to be able to get independent media access to an NFL football game, I'd guess.

It would be cool for FNA to start making stars out of ordinary Ferrari owners winning Challenge races (especially if a network was footing the billinstead of Ferrari-Spa).

Go read your own post. You would think your ass was dipped in gold and Ferrari somehow NEEDS you to be there. Guess what THEY SURE AS HELL DON'T. Ferrari was there long before and will be there long after you are gone. If you are at ANY Function where you are representing yourself or a company you have a responsibility to present yourself in a manner that is appropriate to the room you are in. If every one is in a tie and jacket that is what you should be wearing... If you are at an event like this and wearing a FK this or that shirt... Hell

That's still not the list of people I asked for. And I think you misinterpreted my post - I don't think FNA should cater to me. But I'm a little disheartened that, after so much good press, they've so easily written us off. Additionally, I've never worn offensive clothing to an FNA-sanctioned event - or any other Ferrari event for that matter. Lastly, the picture of me in the F You You Fn F t-shirt was during a trip to San Francisco where I interviewed The Grime, a world-famous tattoo artist. I assure you, for the venue, my attire was actually quite time. However, in an effort to keep my ego in check, I will be contacting The Grime immediately to find out if he was offended by my choice of couture.

It is not just the shirt but even after the event while you are still on their turf the way you behave is measured by the people who decide who they want to invite to THEIR party.

People not mature enough to realize their limits don't get called back.

I'd look at it the other way. If you are competing against youtube (essentially Google's multi-Billions) or MySpace, then there is a very real chance that they will BUY exclusive rights to anything cool that some startup is accessing for free.

I agree, but that's not the case. They told me flat out that Cirkit Vision doesn't appeal to the same demographic to which they are. And I think your idea for making stars out of ordinary owners winning Challenge races is a great one. But not if FNA continues to narrow their publicity. Appealing to a broader scope of people would yield the type of popularity that could one day merit, perhaps, a televised season of the Challenge Series. But not at this rate. We tried... Oh well.

just my opinion but I wouldn't wear a shirt like that anywhere if I was counting on any future interaction with respected companies or groups. Not even to cut the grass. Just like in a corporate environment, IMO, you are held to the same standards on your time and theirs.

Right. I've been wrong a few times before!

But...it would be pretty whuppin' cool to walk into a Ferrari dealership and while you are there you notice that their LCD wall internet displays are playing your neighbor's winning Challenge race, complete with victory lap and post race interview.

You go home, log onto the Ferrari website and have your choice of local/national/international Challenge races, independent and Ferrari-sponsored Le Mans races, and a host of Ferrari concours/vintage/classic/modern car shows from which to view.

Heck, even posters of winning Challenge racers displayed at Dealerships would create "buzz" and inspire more Ferrari owners to race/buy/train...

I am grown up - you're the one who made hollow statements. I'm still awaiting an answer to my last question and a list of those "sway" people. Surely you didn't come into this thread just to argue with me ...because that wouldn't be very grown up.
