I was working on my car and noticed 3 relays and 4 fuses, under the luggage compartment hood on the passenger side (LHD car). So I have been doing some research to find out what these are for because I noticed one of the fuses have melted. I included a link to some pictures I took (7 pics):

Eventually I figured it out, I think it is the ABS ECU. If you have clicked the provided link and checked the pictures, you will see the burnt fuse. I was wondering what this for, and why it may have happened. I saw the melted fuse and went to pull it out, it was very hot.

I did some digging, and now I am confused as to what each relay and fuse is for. I have, from top to bottom: Black, green, orange, blank (relays).

In front of each: 30 amp (melted), 30 amp, 3 amp, 5 amp

Looking in the workshop manual (Brakes 97 section) it says that they are : pump supply fuse 60 A, Electronic power supply fuse 10A, diagnostic socket joint, brake oil level sensor. Then for the 4 little ones (looking at picture in manual) it lists them as right front sensor, right rear senso, left rear sensor, left front sensor.

Looking in the workshop manual (Brakes 94 -96 section)in another section indicates them as: Main relay, electrical pump relay, abs control relay, diode holder. (In front of diode holder, it says its fuse holder for check system) Doesn't mention the other three fuses though

Looking at these links, makes it seem like the melted fuse is for a/c, which is inconstant with the manual:

My car is a 1997 F355. I want to know what these are for, so maybe I can figure out what happened. I was going to replace the fuse but noticed the socket is partially melted.

PS: Anyone know what those 2 grey relays with a 30Amp fuse are for as well (right across from the original 4 relays and fuses in picture 1)?

That fuse holder is to assist in error codes on the ABS system.

I am surprised too see it in that condition

It didn't exactly look good to me either.

All of the fuses and relays in this block are for the ABS system?

Do all of them need to be installed or replaced (if burnt)? I thought I had read that one of the relays should only be plugged in when doing diagnostics, otherwise left out?
