Yeah, I reckon he'll be scraping some paint off the underside over the next 4 days! A couple of big blokes on board by the look of it.

So many chicanes in the prologue yesterday...quite a shame seeing it was on the old grand prix track....only got into 3 rd gear once for a very short time.
Looking forward to first day's racing today....should be good!

Quite a lay back event compared with Targa Tas where you only get about 15-20 minutes for lunch. Here, they stop for morning tea and crumpets then have an hour off for lunch....must be affiliated with the union movement and work according to union rules :)

Some nice pic's popping up around the place.

Including a quote 'at what point does someone consider putting a rollcage in an M5? :| ' With a picture of a certain M5 from Tasmania.

Anyone know how the Skyline N1 of Jeff Beable went? He was here at work a few weeks ago telling about how excited he was for the CA.

Mate, you would be sooooooo much faster in a CSL- in all seriousness.

Not really; but it did sound like that on reflection. It is reality though, the power to weight on the CSL is better, it is really light for what it is. Better steering, better brakes, better handling................ the list goes on an on.

If you want to stick with BMW's, the CSL makes more sense.

For anyone who is interested, the latest EVO magazine tested ALL the M cars including the M1. The CSL came a close second to the original E30 M3.
As a road car, the CSL really is fantastic. It doesn't cut it on the track (in my hands anyway); but on the road it's a sensational car. No GT3; but pretty damn good!

Scott, agree wholeheartedly but you know the story. Besides, the locals here in their F cars would get real dirty getting blown off by a beama.
Had a good day today, 2 seconds faster than a Goobermobile in the first stage but he had a top run in the last stage which was the longest of the day and beat me by 22 seconds. There were a couple of f'ups today including a vintage car running in the last stage amongst MUCH faster cars....it could have got very ugly except for good fortune...we crossed the finish line and he was just ahead of us.

Mate, you should give up selling drugs and become a car salesman :)
Now I've gotta rush, have a big surprise birthday dinner for Helen with some lovely wines and food to be consumed.

An absolutely stellar effort from the Goobmeister, and a great way to end the day! Now we just have to focus on the next three, I've certainly got my work cut out for me. Still things to improve on from my end.....
