Ok, have an early onset senior moment. What is the name of the classic exotic car dealership in Fort Lauderdale on Federal north of Broward on the west side of the road? I cannot remember the name of the place for the life of me!! I used to pass by there just about every day! Now its 1,200 miles away....

Do they still have that Lancia Stratos for sale??

    The correct website is: http://www.motorcargallery.com/

They just updated the look of their website. It looks really nice IMO. I always visit them when I'm in Ft. Lauderdale!! But I always forget the name of the guy who works there. He's always very nice to talk to.

I believe it's Barton Workman (unless he has moved on). He used to be heavily involved in the SSF group down here at one point. Before Barton was Marc Sonnery (Nembo1777), another great guy with neverending stories of driving/racing/karting!

I think Ed is the owner and Marc is the guy I'm referring to. What a great guy to talk to!! So is Marc no longer with the dealership?

Ed Waterman is still the owner.

Barton Workman has moved on to greener pastures.

Marc Sonnery left a year ago or so - can still be found here, on occasion.

Last time I visited, Tom Clark - formerly of the Go Kart track in Ft. Lauderdale - was working the floor for Ed.

The Lancia is still there and is still cool as can be.

Picked my car up today from Tim and saw the Lancia there. I know he rebuilt the motor or something like that when Ed first got the car. Tim's always got a few Motorcar Gallery cars in his shop, it seems.

Had anyone dealt with Motorcar Gallery, i.e. bought a car from them? I would be interested in their reputation for the cars that they sell and hoe their pricing is for the vehicle that they sell. Thanks. Also, I posted a not for Tin Stanford's contact information, as he may have worked on this particular car. Thank you.

Never bought a car from them but I've talked to Ed a few times and he was pretty straight about the car I was interested in. I see his cars in Tim's shop so they are serviced by a reputable mechanic, for sure.

    Hello all:

It is nice to be remembered positively:)

Time flies: I left Motorcar Gallery (and the US) at the end of May...2005!

Ed Waterman is a great guy with many stories, he has been in the trade since the sixties, Michael Sheehan who some consider a veteran calls him uncle Eddie.

Ed is also a very good businessman and so you have to negotiate! He now has Tom Clark jr working with him and very efficiently so, Tom actually did a stint for him in the 80's.

I miss the karting evenings (actually I miss the earlier ones when I was lighter and more competitive;-)) and was sorry not to be able to come visit last winter but should come over next winter.

In Burgundy here the blondes have 4 legs and two horns but the roads are fabulous, twisty challenging and deserted, with zero Gendarmes so I happily wear my tires quite quickly and the living is good, the perfect place to get my books done.

    warm greetings to all,

    Marc

Was there last week because Ed Waterman had an interest in my car. Met with Tom Clark who took pictures and drove the car. Seems like a pretty nice guy. Haven't heard any real interest in the car yet but it seems i might of sold it on Ebay.
