Finally caught a break in the weather and got the 59 out for a few hours on May 9. Definately need to do this more often!
Any other owners of old Vettes around here?

I want to say something here. Do you remember when you could purchase X for Y ? LOL

I remember about 1980, there was an original low mile orange 71 LS-6 roadster for about 14,500. Darn.

Nice pic of the solid axel Corvette.

Yep, I've got a bunch of stories about the $ of cars long gone, but the one happy ending story is the 59 in the picture. $1800 in Dec. 1974.

I priced a '62 327 fuelie with a recent frame-off restoration, red/black, 25K miles for a "fire sale" price of $38K. I have seen several nice ones like it for between $40K and $45K. Man, if my foresight were as good as my hindsight my head would be the biggest part of my body not my butt.................How much was that car new, maybe $3800.

I've also got more money in a 63 Nova than the Vette or a 308 is worth. It all balances out I guess. (Feel better now, ralfabco?)

    Yes.

That happens. I purchased a SIG 550 in 1988 for 1450. I sold it a few years later NIB for 2,800. They bring close to 10K today.

    Everyone has these stories.

I heard Big Block Corvettes were as cheap as dirt around late 1973/74.

That Corvette was a "good" buy. Enjoy
