Have you seen the article we have just had published in Alfieri magazine https://www.borrani.com/maserati-wheels.html I think its pretty thorough.
Thank you for the article Dougal. Not sure however that all the information is accurate: - e.g. the Indy took on the low profile 215/70 VR15 as the other cars in the period (Ghibli, Mexico, Bora) as soon as the 4900 model was produced with its Campagnolo wheels and did not stick to the 205 VR14 anymore (I know that there is stil some uncertainty whether it was 215/70 VR15 or 205/70 VR15, but still it was low profile). - also, regarding the Khamsin, I read in the manual that it should have been fitted with 215 VR15 on 7.5x15 wheels, not 5.5 wheels. And yes, the Ks were actually equipped with 215/70 VR15 tires as the other Masers of the period.
Hmm Indy https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/classic-car-tyres/maserati/indy.html Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Yesd i have to say that the Indy is particularly tricky. All my Michelin guides say 205VR14. Dunlop hasnt got a clue and says 205/70R14 wich is totally out the window, and i even have a period insurance book that says 215VR15! i think my web page is a collection of the data i scoured out last tim i looked into the Indy but i would love to have some more clarity. oops! shizzle i did get the Khamsin one wrong. thats not ideal
Yeah, that's my registration documents. 205/70 VR15 and 215/70 VR15. But obviously 205 R14 is wrong as the Campagnolo wheels that were OEM for the 4900 Indy are 15"
Funny isnt it. This is a 1984/5 Michelin fitment guide. they are convinced the Indy fits 205VR14. (It is unusual because these fitment guides are usually very good. However Maserati are a bit tricky) Image Unavailable, Please Login
