I am looking to buy a classic Mini...there are two I'm looking at..a 1967 Mini Cooper(asking $7200) and a 1976 Mini(asking $5000)...I like the 1967 better with is classic dash and sliding windows, but the seller says I would be happier with the 1976 better...they are both in very good condition...anyone out there have any ownership experience with classic Minis?

When I was in Europe I had an '80 1000cc and it was so much fun! Of the two you're looking at, if I remember correctly, the later one is better for its suspension ('67 had the "hydro-elastic") and can be modded more ie supercharger ;) The Cooper has disc brakes whereas the 76 does not. But those can be added pretty easily. It's been a few years so I can be wrong on a few things; except the fun factor!
