Motorweek has started posting classic old episodes and they finally release one on the 3X8. It's a fun watch.

Ok, we should be able to figure out the serial number of this car.

Very early 328 with the washer tank in the spare. Grigio with red interior. GTS.

Any ideas? The VIN plate is briefly visible in a reflection at the 4:00 mark, but I can't make it out.

Thankfully I did a search before posting the same video. :)

The complete episode is very good. Especially the Porsche 959 segment.

And just to complete the thread they have recently added a more recent 308 video too.

I always loved the Jalpa's styling. I'd love to own one but parts availability and reliability aren't so good.

I have owned an '86 Jalpa and an '86 Lotus Turbo Esprit. I currently have an '87 328. The 328 is by far and away the best all around car of the bunch. The Lambo was raw, but fun, much like what was stated in the video. The Lotus was fun when it ran, but had major transmission and intake issues. I really liked them all, but the 328 pushes all of my buttons. I would not trade it for another Lambo and definitely had way too many issues.

The Jalpa interior and especially the switchgear was a bit of a dogs breakfast- not a patch on the 328.

What a coincidence that the latest edition of Classic and Sports Car features all the three cars mentioned above and in the Motor Week video.

I loved my silver-grey 1997 Esprit GT3 that I bought new back in the day (definitely in the "wish I'd kept it" category). Now I love my 1988 328 even more, and it reminds me of the Esprit in many ways...although it can't match the Esprit's utterly fabulous steering.
