So I rented a house in Manchester by the sea for two weeks but am unable to get a car up there...

Can anyone recommend a rental company where I could potentially rent something like a 328? Living in fl and being from MA it's kind of my dream to drive one of my fcars on a new England road!

    Thanks

Premiere has it, but you have to get a year membership to it to get it.

I would suggest Gotham Dream Cars.

They'll probably deliver the car to you and they're just a good group and have an excellent selection, especially for the NE region.

In this economy, you would think that Premier would do gift certificates ;) what is up with their website? Do they even exist anymore? All the dates on there are 2007 and 2008, pretty odd

Yea no kidding! I hadn't noticed the date problems though.

Gotham has that club where you buy points and they get you massive discounts on rentals and all these bonus things like getting free delivery to your door. It's awesome.

.com is down, and .net works somewhat. Phone line is disconnected now, but the PCC car trailer is still at the location.

Looks like PCC is liquidating. - 01 Esprit, 05 H2, Chevy SSR and Porsch Cab are all for sale. No idea if the Gallardo, 355, 66 Vette still exist

There used to be a place in RI called International Horsepower.
I would love to rent a car from Gotham sometime. Would be a blast.

Hi everyone. I just joined the board because I saw that DadsFerrari mentioned my company. I am the president of Status Ride in MA. First I would like to say thank you for mentioning our site.

We are launching in April and yes this economy is tough for many businesses but we have done over a year of research and still feel there is room for this business in MA.

I currently own a successful IT company based in MA that I started from scratch with zero capital and had always looked to rent exotic cars around here. Gotham charges 500 to get one here, other are 600 or more not to mention the mandatory two day rentals. So a 1200 a day rental turns into 4000 after two days, delivery, taxes, etc... I have two loves, cars and computers(Ohh my wife and daughter too ;) so I decided to do all I can to make them my career as well.

The biggest obstacle was insurance but after hiring a consultant who has been in the business since 94 and speaking to others he has trained, we were able to get insurance for each car in the 300 a month range per car. This was imperative as our earlier quotes were 17-19K a year. The reason is, our insurance company specializes in car rental business and works with our consultant, even keeps his training material on hand as a reference.

So I don't mean to ramble on but did want to explain a little as to why and how we got started.

The reason we chose Auburn MA is logistics. Our showroom is right on 146, Worcester Auburn line. We will deliver 75% if our rentals and our location allows us to be roughly an hour aways from Boston, Manchester, Newport, Providence, Hartford. etc...

I look forward to speaking to everyone on this board.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding our rentals, I am happy to answer them.

And DrewStoddard, we will have an F430 coupe and hopefully a 360 Spider if interested.

    Thanks.

welcome to the board, and good luck with the business :) Good to have an option here after Premier Car Club disappeared and Fantasy Auto closed down.

Will Status focus on mostly high margin exotics, or will you delve into Corvettes, and luxury Euro/Jap sedans and coupes?

    Thank you!

It really depends on the demand. We are trying to keep our niche of high end exotic and mid range luxury cars (C300, S550, RX350) but if we get a lot of requests for a certain car, we will do our best to get one as long a it fits our model somewhat.

We have a link on our site where people can suggest cars they would like to rent that we don't currently carry.

Please let us know what you would like to see.
