We're having a discussion here at work about classic toys.

What was the name of the "skate-like" sit down "scooter"? It had a red seat, 2 skate board wheels under it, attached in front was a handle bar you placed your feet on with 2 more wheels and you moved it left and right to move.

I can't remember for the life of me.

I have no idea what the toy is you are referring to but since you started a thread on classic toys...

I have the worlds most complete collection of classic Micronaut toys. Been my fav thing since childhood and cost me a pretty penny tracking them all down.

Nice! Even those were a few years before my time, I remember them. My cousin probably had a small collection amongst his Star Wars action figures.

Useless Knowledge is "Worldly Knowledge". :D Thanks. My brain was beginning to burn, and eyes starting to hurt scrolling through page after page of 80's Toy Websites. I loved these things.

Friends had these in Cali and we would use their downhill driveway and cul-de-sac to pick up pretty good speeds on those things. Fun as hell and I love to do it again.

Does anyone know someone who had this. ****ing hilarious!

    I loved my GI Joes.

    These two were my favorite.

Cobra Night Raven: I remember having to return this thing 3 times because they all were missing at least one piece.

    and

Mobile Command Center: I swear at the time this thing was half as tall as I was. It was huge!

Back in the early 70s I inherited my cousin's collection of original WWII-modeled GI Joes. He gave me a huge collection of accessories and a foot locker that are probably worth a bit of money today...for whoever has them:(

I mainly remember my "Big Wheel". I think I went through a couple of them.

The front wheel always ended up with a flat spot wore through it due to all of the "power slides" I did with it.

Also, sometime in the 80's I had an outdoor game called "Jokari". It was a paddle and ball game - the ball was about the size of a racquetball attached to a long elastic string attached to a heavy base. You played with paddles much like racquetball. I'd love to find one to play now....

Anyone remember Mattel's Electronic Football? Hard to imagine that such a simple toy kept me amused for so many hours.

SSP cars were the ones with the geared rip cords and center wheel, right? I had a lime green one. Those were pretty cool--precursor to Evel's stuntcycle.

    What was sizzler?

    yep thems SSP's.

Sizzlers where little Hot Wheels sized cars that were battery operated. You charged them up for a minute using a "fuel Pump". They then ran for about 2 minutes on a high banked track. They still make them. Pretty cool.

    LMAO.

I remember those well. Only a few kids at school had them, and we fought to play it. Look at the comparison between those and todays handheld games. Another universe!

BTW - there are always a few for sale on Ebay. Might have to pick one up...
