Thanks to the guys at Classic Coach and Dave North for last Saturday Tech Day at Classic Coach. Totally free of charge they checked my fluids, operation of lights, tire pressure, and answered all my questions while providing a good lunch. After having my car under cover most of the winter I really felt better having it checked out before any spirited driving. I almost forgot, they torqued the lug bolts. Since I had my wheel repainted for curb rash last fall I suspected that my tire pressure was not uniform but was too busy to get it right. Pressure and bolts really made me feel more comfortable. For anyone in the NYC/NJ area I recommend attending this event. And are they equipped for this, they have about seven lifts so it was in and out, with time out only for a refulling lunch. Thunbs up.
The sticky post at the top of the tri-state forum has a list of events in the months ahead. That's how I find most events. The description did not do the event justice. they not only put your Ferrari on a lift, but as I said checked the fluids and wheels. Plus they had a F40 F50 and alot of classics to look at. I found out how much it would cost to redye the seats or add a challange grille. It was neat.
Sorry, the events sticky for this year did not have and firm tech day dates. I guess I way the Classic cooach in the FCA bulliten. check Wide World of Cars and Ferrari of Entral NJ web sites as they have had tech sessions in the past.
Justin at WWoC told me a couple of weeks ago that they don't intend to have any Tech Days this year since they don't have the room. Maybe Tech Day will return once they move into their new building. Anyone going to the Ferrari of Central Jersey Spain F1 race viewing?
The event was fantastic. I brought my 330 GTC there and really benefited from the knowledge of the staff there as they put my car on the lift and gave it a thorough inspection. I absolutely love that place and Onofrio. Every time I go there I am truely awestruck by the uterly amazing cars they have on premisis and the pure passion, knowledge and skill Onofrio and staff have for these fabulous cars. Here is just a small sampling of what they had in the shop... good shots! you missed a good one though, the green miura, seen in the bottom right corner of the photo with the white one, was the one really worth photographing. It was a rare SV-J model, which was the lightweight "club racer" version.
I know... I just couldnt get a good pic of it as it was so tightly surrounded by other cars. I have a soft spot for Miuras, I owned a P400S myself. That is the only Jota I've ever seen, and most likely will remain that way.
