More toys coming i love spare parts but since my 99 intake is the older design I'll use that as wall art. Picked up this 04 intake And scored the CS front bumper thanks 02360spider for the find . I was looking at and considering that bumper since it was a hell of a deal but ultimately didn't want to deal with setting up the shipping, congrats on the score
I'm curious about that too. I belive most 03 and 04 cars had this. I talked to Trevor and says the tune will be fine. But curious why ferrari changed it
I have an early 99 as well and am a big fan of the induction noise between 2000ish and 4000 rpm, it sounds almost demonic. That alone would prevent me from changing the intake if it changes the noise.
Now Trev360 mentioned the race teams added a spacer between the head and the manifold face/flange for increased performance . I dont think the 10mm or so inlet track length increase made much difference . I think if the correct material was used it created a heat break to reduce the heat soak into the inlet manifold therefore reducing the inlet temperature . It would be interesting to now more about this , as if you are changing your manifold it would be an easy thing to do .
Same I iknow clean512 is in ca and was looking for a front bumper so I dropped him a line. Sent from my SM-G996U1 using Tapatalk

Not sure if it does anything at all, I had one on one highly modified other brand car a few years ago as part as many other mods so I can't tell what that particular part did. I bought the story about heat transfer then, even more so that the car was a turbo so charge air is quite hot.
What exactly is the difference in the intake design? I know there was a change to the vacuum routing at the back but what else is different? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
There are actually a couple of reasons to do it. No 1 is to reduce the tendancy for turbulence and thus air starvation to a couple of the cylinders at the back in relation to the other 6 at higher rpms. This improves efficiency with more even airflow between front and back cylinders for improved combustion. It doesn't just hit a brick wall at the back. The other was more practical, so they could physically fit the engine in later 360 spider variants which is more challenging given the packaging is tighter on Spiders Vs the Modena. This is probably the main reason to do it Sent from my CPH2145 using Tapatalk
Playing with the camera. Nothing like forged monoblock wheels. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Beside the 430 maf and the factory CS exhaust and the high flow cats. Are really the only mods are needed at this level. Will see where I go next with him. But the magic is in the tune and software where trev does custom exhaust valve maps where the valves open sooner, the readiness is in green, remove the cat monitor and I full elaimtied the cat ecu and probs. Appy the instant torque patch. I love just how the car works and feels .its been allmost a year and not one problem with it. Thank you Av and trev
So it actually doesn't and will be using my 99 bottom part with the top later style. Just had a great talk with trev and he believes the design with the 45 angle on the latter top was the improvement that they didn't need the machined trumpets but ill incorporate both cool parts and have the best of both worlds. Its still a beautiful intake design Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
And for people that don't know here is the 99 intake or up to maybe 2001 you can see the the machined trumpets inside. Image Unavailable, Please Login
So from my understanding are they really only called “machined” because of the ported style finish? Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
