Hi guys, I have some wax residue and fading on the black vents / louvers behind the headlights and over the engine... Do you have any suggestions for making them show worthy?

The first thing to do is remove the old wax residue and you won’t do that by spraying more stuff on top of it. There are multiple products out there for that purpose, isopropyl alcohol will do it too. An old toothbrush and some elbow grease will help. You might need a 90 degree Phillips screwdriver to get the countersunk screws out to pull the grills but I’ve had success with a regular straight one. Having them on the bench makes it a lot easier and you can clean all the stuff underneath as well.

If they are just dirty or oxidized, tooth past or mild polishing compound works well. If the oxidation is really bad cleanser like Comet works well. Test on back side first.

My rear vent were badly oxidized and cleaned up like new.
