Has anyone used or know of Clearly Protected? I believe they are in Morrison?
I used Rocky Mountain window tint. She will come to your residence. She did both my MB and my Modena. Work was good and I chose Venture Shield, now owned by 3 M as it is , guarenteed for life , very clear etc. Doc f
I'm aware of IDS. I don't know if they will come to my house to do the install? I'll have to call them. Clearly Protected is a mobil service.
IC...I'm not sure about that also. BTW Jeff, check out my Scud pic I took while I was in LA http://www.mpresiv.net/auto/f430Scud/F430Scud_8Nov2009_26.jpg
Does anyone have any additional updates, recommendations or suggestions regarding installers in the Denver/Boulder area? I'm considering this for my 328.
The Man Cave located at 13401 W. 43rd Dr. Unit 7 in Wheat Ridge does Window Tint and Clear bra. We can polish the paint to perfection before we put the clear bra on. We can also do the one piece hood as long as your hood is less than 60" long so you won't have a line on the hood. Michael Bergren 303-279-7333 office 303-929-1998 cell
Make sure you get a paint corrective detail before you put on the bra, if you don't you will trap in the marring (swirls, rids, etc) under the clear and it will drive you nuts! I would also look for someone tha will do full sheet wraps so you don't have any edges to the bra, they just collect grime and in time that will drive you nuts. Cheers, GREG
Another bit of advice, is find someone who does NOT cut the material on the car. Seen this too many times. I just had mine replaced by the guy who does them all at the Porsche dealer in Littleton, and the paint underneath it looked brand new. He uses pre-cut material, and he was also the one who put it on from day one.
Thanks for these replies. I'll follow up with the individual poster(s) on a couple of them. Regarding not cutting the film while on the car, I've read that the pre-cut installations tend to not be as good as "custom" installations in terms of fit and finish. Does a custom installation require cutting the material while actually on the car? I could imagine that that could be a risky proposition for the paint.
Just like with film some kits are better than others. If you are going with a precut kit I would recommend finding someone that uses Xpel or ProForm Design patterns.... maximum coverage with minimal seem lines... and wrapped edges too. The rpoblem in the Denver area is there are numerous installers that cut on the car. I honestly do not know of any of them that are good enough to do that. I have been up there for work numerous times and seen some of the "custom" jobs that have been done in the area. Lets just say that some of these people have no business installing film. There are really only a handful of installers in the country that do this properly (Premier and Detailing Dynamics are a couple). Make sure you check out their work closely before going with them. It is much easier to find out up front the quality of the work you are going to get than to try and get not only the install cost but the repair costs to repaint the car after the installer screws it up.
Thanks. I'll definitely be careful about checking the work quality if I decide to go with this, and will look for those who use the pre-cut panels you suggest. If I'm not convinced that the installer's capable of doing an excellent job, I'll skip having it done at all and instead plan on touching up the paint chips. Or perhaps just limit the install to something that ought to be pretty straightforward, such as along the front bumper and perhaps the fog lights. I've seen Premier discussed quite a bit on FerrariChat and their reputation does appear to be excellent. It might be in reference to their work that I saw the comment(s) about a custom install being preferable. Unfortunately, it looks like their only location is in California.
