We had the dealer install a full bra. Got the car and there are bubbles, marks under the bra and odd cuts in the bra which they say is normal because of the car shape.

We think it looks crappy and we are doing them to redo.

I would think that they should have spent hours on prepping the car before doing the bra and that there should be no bubbles cuts or defects in the bra.

    Any experience with this?

Using a dealer not my first choice. I would demand a refund and go to a local specialist.

Dealers take a cut and hire someone based on price. Unless you have a high integrity dealer, and you clearly don't.

I have only the plastic bumper and lights done, not the hood or sides, all good. Depends on your driving area.

Had the bonnet (hood) done and like you was not happy as it had bubbles and small lumps like tiny bits of grit. I refused to pay and insisted they remove it. Went to a specialist and had it done to perfection.

Don't want to bash the dealer but it's a Ferrari dealer. Partial bra was part of the deal but they tried to charge us $1645 for difference to do the full bra. Did not know the price until after it was complete. Negotiated down to $1000. They have offered to pick back up and try to correct. But not even sure what brand they used. Also had ceramicpro done by them and detailer said he uses 4 guys for 24 hours total time to get the car prepped and I have black paint splatter under the bra.

I guess we will see what happens with the the dealer and how they step up to the plate here to correct.

Auto Protek at Ascot charge £400 for a whole bonnet, brilliant job done by enthusiasts who really are proud of their work. When the Lusso arrives it will go straight there for front end, bonnet, mirrors, A pillars and half front wings self healing clear high gloss.Berkshire Paint Protection Film Xpel, Suntek, Auto Protek | Auto Protek, Paint Protection Film Specialists

They scrubbed it with a wire brush then made the marks disappear with a hair dryer, incredible (that was after the film was applied of course)

What I am learning is best not to deal with the dealer for anything extra even when they have the Ferrari moniker. I guess we were just not thinking and figured that if we deal with the big Ferrari dealer and pay more that we would get exceptional work done.

Doing some research and knowing more we are seeing that many companies could do the work for much less and do a much higher quality job. Its very important to make sure the paint is corrected and all surface work is done prior to application and that they don't use a basic cheap bra. Anyone can buy do it yourself pre-cut bra material online but the install is the key.

Now we have a $300k + car with a crappy looking bra and not very happy with this car because of it.

I can only hope the dealer makes this right and corrects these issues. If they do I will be a happy camper.

Get a pro to do it. And get someone good to do a paint correction first.

Also take into consideration which film you use. Either Suntek or Xpel self healing films is the way to go. The ones I've seen from Ferrari are very thick and not very good looking.

    "Hope" is not a plan!

You decide right now they will refund you and remove it. And you tell them to do it.

If you get a no, you ask for the owner. If it comes to that, repost here.

So far the general manager has put in writing that they will redo and take care of redoing all properly. We still don't know what brand of bra but we will be pushy on this subject to find out which they are doing. He said the company doing it is really good and that people drive from hundreds of miles to bring their car to him. I have to think what happened to the clear bra on there now because the work is crap.

I would take the credit and walk.

You want XPEL ultimate or SunTek, and every edge wrapped by someone who never does a bad job for a FERRARI and a FERRARI DEALER! That's ridiculous.

They said the owner will be personally doing the job this time. Still don't know the brand and waiting for that answer. I did tell them that Xpel Ultimate is the best to use. I don't think getting a credit is an option at this point.

Just heard that they will use SunTek film for the bra as they said its better for the long curvy hood of the FF and that it does not have such an aggressive adhesive which means that repairs and replacements due to damage have a much lower risk of damaging the paint.

However they said they could do Xpel ultimate if we choose that as they do both.

Would love to have others input on this

Almost thinking I should go with what they suggest as it could kick me later. Not sure if Xpel just has more marketing keeping it all over over the net or if its really a far superior product.

We have Xpel Ultimate on our Range Rover and I have SunTek on my 991 DD. Should I choose today, I'd go SunTek. It just seems to be more "clear" and deep. In terms of daily upkeep, the SunTek also strikes me as a bit smoother and easier to clean.

I've read this many times, SunTek is more glossy/clear.

Sun Tek looks clearer, doesn't change colour, has higher gloss, appears a deeper shine after high def wax, self healing in a miraculous way. No brainier from my point of view. Had both and will only use SunTek from now on. Plus they are correct in that it adapts to curves and indents better being slightly thinner with a small degree of stretch.

Do you think they will send me a freebie after that glowing endorsement???

I’ve heard from 3 dealers the ff hood is too long for the clear bra roll. Is this true. Is anyone’s ff hood covered from end to end? All the dealership cars have the last 3in before the windshield uncovered

Expel is thicker. Lots of Ferrari dealers like to use the SunTek because it's a bit thinner and bends on curves easier and it looks clearer. In my view, if you want the protection because you are driving a ton I would go with the Expel. Expel is going to be a bit cloudier and sometimes more "orange peely". On a dark car, Expel is going to show more then the SunTek.
