The side/nose of my M3 was just clipped by the plastic running board of a Ford F150. Good news is the clear bra was really all that was damaged. Some heavy scuff marks but little else. I am going to call around tomorrow to a few installers but has anyone had a bra removed and one reinstalled?? My car is about 18 months old. Am I freaking out for no reason??? I could just have the sections that we scuffed replaced but I really think I should have the whole thing redone so it matches up. Agreed??

I've been told that they can remove only the damaged area and replace it with new plastic. But that obviously means you'd have matching issues with the clear bra. A good alternative for areas that aren't easily noticed.
But if it's on the side of your car... then I guess have the entire section replaced. Make sure they do a good job removing your clear bar, though. I've read stories where the paint can also come off during removal.

I;ve used a lot of the 3M stuff and it comes off real easy with a little heat, in my experience.

As for matching, it should be OK. 3M says it doesnt yellow, so if the stuff you take off is clear, so will the stuff going on be. The only matching issue would be if your existing clear bra is scratched or rock chipped... but I think the insurance co would not wanna pay for that. You could say that it comes in complete kits (which is true) and you cant just buy a side easily, and must buy a whole kit.
