Custom cut. An installer worth a damn should be able to do it.

Is the paint job expensive or difficult to touch up?

I agree with you and have had mine clear bra'd before it was driven. There is no kit we are aware of so it is custom work and requires a skilled installer owing to the curvature of the nose - sort of like wrapping an egg! We did about the front 1/3 of the nose (above and below the snout), the headlight covers, the whole rocker panel, the rear wings below the bumpers, and the trailing edge of the doors. Of course there is now a faint line across the hood where the material ends but I'm ok with that to protect the nose. Let us know what you decide to do.

    What color is your car?

Well, the reason I bring it up is because even though it may keep the paint perfect, it probably won't look perfect with the bra on. Unless it can't be matched or touched up easily, you are spending a bunch of time and money to make the paint amazing, and then wrapping it in something that will make it look not amazing.

Do you have a clear bra on any of your other cars? Do you mind the orange peel/imperfections?

My car had a really good install, so say the other installer, but the clear bra just had more orange peel than something like Xpel. He told me I should really think about it before switching. He said it would look better, but only I could judge whether to improvement was worth it. He didn't want to get my expectations up on the idea of paint-like clear bra. It's just not possible. He put a test piece on a my spoiler and told me to think about it.

Just some food for thought and it will depend on the color of course.

Fair points. I've had similar treatments on other cars and while they aren't "invisible", I'm good with the trade off. After restoring a car that i want to drive, it felt like a prudent step. I can always take the clear bra off the car - not so easy to have the nose repaired and repainted.

the car is gunmetal grey. and we will be asking xpel to do a custom job since they seem to the best group. the tradeoff is worth it imo
