I used an Eastwood clear spray based on some motorcycle buddies who had great results in much harsher environments. Media blasted and used a few thin coats. The end result is clean, but does not look like raw AL. Kind of gets a gray look to it. Anyway, I'm pleased so far. Eastwood Diamond Clear "satin finsih for bare metal", heat resistant etc...

I used a high temp engine clear coat bought at the local parts store. Same greying effect as described before but has held up extremely well. Still looks great!

    eulk328,

Is your oil cap stock 328 equipment?

No. It's a Hill Engineering oil cap cover from Ricambi America. It fits over the original cap and is held in place by one or two Allen screws. It's well-made.
