QUOTE=sambomydog;140017244]Here in the UK we have clear front light lenses as standard. www.eurospares.co.uk sell them also.
I personally also use clear side wing indicators which look great;) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FERRARI-348-355-360-F430-550-599-Clear-Side-Lights-Lens-/110597292481?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item19c01cc1c1
Regarding the US style side markers, thank god UK cars dont have them. They look to fussy with a hint of afterthought IMO.[/QUOTE]

    Chris:

I have the clear front lamps on my F355 and I also wanted to replace the front (and possibly the rear) side marker lamps with a clear lamp assembly. As you may know, they are a one-piece assembly and there is no (simple) way of removing the lens without using a fine blade saw, I did a pretty comprehensive search to find a similar sized unit that used a similar mounting arrangement (I didn't care about the wiring as I could always re-wire). Unfortunately, no joy. :( Perhaps someone (Daniel) might be able to help with this issue. I think most people with clear front lamps would also opt for clear front marker lamps.

    saw,
Thanks for the feedback. Where did you purchase your front clear lens? I was also looking to replace the side yellow markers and was going to check them tonight, i didnt know they were all one unit? Where are they available in clear??????

Are you using standard colored bulbs up front behind the clear or LED"S
    Thanks
    Chris
    Any pictures????

    RICAMBI. There is no substitute......

I am using incandescent bulbs in the front but I switched to LEDs in the rear, thanks to f355spider's great research and information.

The Amber side markers are a one-piece unit. These are the ones I wanted to replace, but I couldn't find a clear lens unit that would work.

If you replaced the rears with LEDs did you get any fast flash on the turns or did you use a regulator inline?

I too would be very interested in clear side markers for the front and rear bumpers. Let me know if you have any luck.

I have all LED's front and rear. The flashing rate went way up (faster). I would say it's too fast. You have to add load resistors to get the flash rate back to normal. Unfortunately those load resistors can get pretty darn hot and you lose one of the advantages you just gained (reduced electrical load on the alternator or battery, as the case may be).

An alternative would be a flasher unit that is electronically timed (not load dependent) but that may be problematic as the 355 flasher isn't as simple as on some cars.

The only reasonable and realistic option is to get your car painted black and then get the ugly side markers "smoked." :)

Thanks (although the previous owner had it done). I removed the standard bulbs and put in 1 watt amber/red LED's (front/rear). They're bright enough to cut through the smoked lenses although the beam of light is more of a spot than the "spread" of the incandescent bulbs. Still.... does the job fine.

Even in the bright midday sunlight of the Mojave Desert the little 1 watt LED can be seen.

Thank goodness they standardized the mirrors for U.S./non-U.S. on the 348/355 so we don't have to suffer the U.S. spec. 328 atrocity. :)

I "un-oranged" my Euro 328 a few years ago. Orange and red just don't compliment each other...

The side marker lamps in clear or white are illegal in many parts. There is a reason why red and orange markers are used on cars.

The last time I was talking to Oz (Gothspeed) he mentioned he might do a run of clear side markers. Hit him up and see if his project is still a go.

Reviving a 10 year old thread to say, I had some clear side markers made for my Rosso Corsa F355 because the orange bothered me that much.
