After spending the last 3 days to rebuild the seat POT to get my spider top working.

I started the car to go for a drive and starting hearing a clicking noise that kept on going even after engine shut off.

It came from the rear right of the engine bay (see attached pictures) it seems like maybe playing with the A/C control got it to stop (not sure tho).

Also the hose going to the part making the noise is moving in sync / rhythm with the noise.

And the part's top is a bit lose and move right to left and a 1/4 in and as yu can see on the second picture the top and bottom shape of this part doesn't match up

Its an electric radio antenna. The click click click is the drive system pulling the mast back down and not stopping. Looks broken. Get a new one for a few bucks.

It's not OE. Whatever it is, it looks after market. Love the mounting bracket.

Good call Brian! It been a while since I have seen one of those. Interesting place to mount an antenna. I am trying to figure out the orientation, I see the air pump just below it. Did the antenna open behind the grill?

Sl55, good job on the top!

Sure is I can see the antenna as well.

This car is in such good condition, a time capsule with 3023 miles!

While the seats were out I started cleaning the leather and now it looks amazing. I will be conditioning the leather early next week.

I will also be converting the car 100% to original and remove the antenna and the beautiful mounting bracket :)

I am hunting for missing books, radio cover, luggage in order to be able to make it a show car.

The car still has some of the inside plastic protective film...

Nearly every 355 has plastic film on the carpets below the seats. I've owned 3 and everyone had it until I removed it. The carpet binding was actually stitched thru the film.

Note - your gage cluster has been modified with what appears to be an aftermarket radar detector LED's.

Where did the antenna mast protrude through the body. Did they drill a hole in a fender for it?

That's a shame the books etc got separated from that car. Somebody must have removed them for safe keeping. Maybe the original owner has them?

I thought the manual cars had an oil pressure gauge where there appears to be a clock in this one?

Ah, fair enough. So the oil pressure must be where the gear indicator is on the F1?

Right no radio either this is why I am looking for a radio cover the one found in 95 s

The antenna is coming thru the mesh in the engine compartment so I will also be looking for that

But first now that the top is fixed I am going drive the car and enjoy her a bit!

If anyone be knows where to find some of those parts
    Please pm me
