is it the buttons sticking, or is it actually the console being misaligned, and the buttons sticking because of the console? Sometimes mine stick, but if I gently press on the plastic, pushing it one way or the other, the button pops back up.

I've actually considered taking my console out and taking a small file or Dremel (r) tool to the openings to make them just a bit larger.

That is of course ok.........but pls take care when you take the plastic off the "housing"....It is glued on so take care and do it slowly otherwise it will brake............and it does easily.

I think he is talking about filing down the openings in the cover plate. That would make sense. I used some Goof Off 2 to get the stickiness of the cover plate and the buttons seem to work better also. The gummy coating gets stuck along the sides of the buttons and makes them stick to the cover plate.

Just thought you would have to take the thing off to be able to file the openings?????

If you were taking the plastic cover off the A/C control box then yes, it would be glued on. But the plastic cover that gets gummy is not glued to the controller.
I had some rubbing on the removeable cover when I got my car and fixed it by using GO2 to remove the sticky finish.
