curious if anybody has had the same issue or knowledge on a fix..

couple things.. the off switch for the fan doesn't seem to shut down the system when driving , however when I shut car off and with the off switch depressed the system is off when I restart the car. then when driving I can turn on the system like normal and operates fine changing from defrost / ac / ae ...2nd issue is that the fan speed control basically is useless, fan operates at full speed, turning the knob left or right doesn't affect speed at all...

my tech who does all my maintenance / repairs has pulled the system apart checked and cleaned everything and doesn't think that just replacing the whole switch would do the trick ???? basically said post a thread and see what you fine people think...

if anybody has any ideas or similar issues be much appreciated !!!!

Full speed fan usually means the power transistor that controls the fan speed is fried. There are many threads on this to replace the transistor with a more powerful one to support the fan power control. It is located inside the central air box and you can see the pop rivets holding it in place from beneath the air box. You will need small hands to get it out after removal of the air distribution grill on the dash. There are threads. Good luck.

Pure speculation on my part but I would expect that to be in the knob variable resistance mechanism itself and not linked to the power transistor. However, there are much better guys on here to answer that question than me.

If I recall correctly there may be a fuse in the A/C switch that you might check. I am really shooting from the hip here. I have a "T" which has a slightly different set-up from yours.

you are correct in the fan speed control switch there is a fuse and its kind of a unique size which I did change out for a new fuse, unfortunately that didn't do the trick... my bigger concern is why the off button isn't turning the system off unless I shut the car down ???? RATS !!!

    thanks for your input !!!

my last issue for the time being to accomplish,,, just did a new clutch and it needed a flywheel ,, shifts like butter now....
