No bashing please, this is a Land Rover question, but I know a lot of you guys have Rovers as daily drivers. I tried some Rover sites to no avail.

One of my LR3s has an obnoxious chirping noise coming from the climate fan located behind the glove box. I tried getting some silicone spay on the shaft without removing the unit, but alas, no go. Anyone come across this problem and stumbled onto an easy fix? If you did remove the fan, do you have any instructions to avoid a trip to the dealer? many thanks

I don't have a LR3 but I did have a discovery II. I am not sure if yours has a cabin air filter, but usually it is between the cowl and the fan, try taking that out and seeing if some debris has gotten down into the fan that way. While you are there you might as well replace the filter.
Anyway, I don't know if that will solve the problem but its worth a shot!
