I think they have more of a history of turning into aircraft than they do staying on the road.

Maybe it was due to that one car sitting for so long. The CLK GTR in Florida has something like 24,000 miles on it.

Well, you could always buy this CLK-GTR coupe and CLK-LM racing version from Japan. Both have a little more importance (especially the racing one) compared to this lemon Roadster. http://www.drautos.com/Search/DRauSearchDetails.aspx?itemid=295257

Erik (if you're reading), it appears to be from the Light Auto place. Notice 28R resting under the car cover. :)

    Good eye man! :D

On that note, I wandered back over to LightAuto's website and found this new picture below.

Incidentally, this thread about the CLK-GTR Roadster lawsuit is a repost here on F-Chat. The original is in the general cars forum here:

The production numbers aren't that clear. I've seen different stats all over the place. The most reliable I think was for an auction for #0006 CLK-GTR racing version. The summary said 25 CLK-GTR coupes were made and that figure INCLUDES 4 racing versions. So 21 street coupe CLK-GTRs. There is 1 CLK-LM road version, which resides in Japan. I find that interesting since I figured MB would've kept it. I've see in other ads that there are 6 LM racing racing versions. I know of 3 silver and 1 black CLK-GTR roadster.

CLK-GTR, the one car that has eluded me. I would love to see that beast up close.

and hossb your best bet is to go to one of the annual shows in Florida. Gerd Petrik and Don Wallace both own one and both show their cars regularly at the Florida shows. I saw Dons cars last February in St Petersburg.
