As some of you may recall I posted my new car which was a Boxster s, a few months ago, long story short its totaled. So now im looking to replace it with something different. Its between an 04 BMW M3 SMG Cab or a 04 MB CLK55 AMG coupe. I drove the M3 with the SMG and was very unimpressed, it was very jerky and not smooth at all. After speaking to others about it they said you have to learn the transmisson, be that as it may, I just wasn't impressed. The CLK55 seems a lot more refined and is very powerful, however I have been in the BMW scene for 3 years now and never really thought higly of MB''s. This will not be a daily driver, its a weekend car. It will be used for pleasure driving, car gatherings, modding, speeding, etc. For my uses and enjoyment what do you all think im better off with an M3 or CLK55.

    I would look at a M3 with a manual and/or a pre-owned Porsche 911.

The M3 Cab isn't as solid as the coupe and a 911 is a no brainer...

    Just my opinion...

I agree with "993 guy" on the idea of buying a pre owned 911 or a Coupe M3. I believe you can find a nice 996 used in good condition, if not, try the M3 E46 Coupe which looks amazing in my opinion.

My daily driver is a MB CLK 55 conv., love the car...subtle looks and lots of power with that "tank" MB feel. My lease is up and I am actually headed into either an RS4 or S6. WIth the baby on the way need AWD and four doors but dont want to give up speed and performance (when I drive without the child).

I too agree with a 911 (993 or 997 of course ;)). However, in response to your original question....I'd say M3! They are awesome especially with the factory comp. package!

What's your budget? I'm with the M3 coupe crowd, or the 911, but if it is just for weekends and fun runs and such.... Lotus?

Go for a 6speed Comp. pack M3... you will love how usable it is, with trunk room quick, good handling yet drivable everywhere and every day!

996 only!!! It's a great daily car - I know a guy who drives his 4S every day to work, even in winter.

He said it'd only be a weekend car though... Unless I'm the one who's misreading it?
