    I think I may have had the last clock that was still working. The clock just gave up a few months ago. Not really sure why I should fix it but when anything is broken it is more irritating that the money to fix it. Anyone sent theirs in? I would appreciate a referral. I know that there are some places that simply replace the works with a new, and incorrect clock motor, but retain the same face and hands. I am not sure that I care if the right motor is in the clock.

    Sent mine to Palo Alto Speedo. They did nice work on my tach and speedo. Haven't gotten the clock back though, expect it in a few weeks.

    Claus Meese at PAS just quoted me ~$300 in parts to convert my failed Veglia Borletti clock to Quartz drive.

    He did the same on a previous car 12 years ago and it still runs today. Even if you show your car at National Concours events, the FCA guidelines state that replacing the clock mechanicals with Quartz is acceptable.

    Just a thought... did you check the wiring to be sure your getting power to the clock?
    It would be quite a disapointment to send out for $300 and get back THEN discover a fuse or lose wire was the actual culprit.

    If they didn't allow it, how would they know if you swapped it to quartz if you never told them?

    Because the second hand would have a firm tick movement between seconds, instead of "sweep" movement, same as the difference between a Rolex-style movement and a quartz/battery movement.

    D&M RESTORATIONS IN GREENVILLE, SC DID BOTH OF MY DINO CLOCKS AT $135 EACH. QUARTZ REPLACEMENT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE SAME BUT I JUST NEEDED THE RESET MECHANISM REPAIRED AND THE CLOCK SERVICED. I WAS QUITE HAPPY WITH THEIR WORK.

    Agree w/ tomberlin r/e Palo Alto Speedometer. Had my early Dino clock worked on by them 3 yrs ago. They said they could repair it as factory new, which would likely dictate failure again at some point in the future, or replace the guts with a quartz movement for a little more money (about $300. then), and it would prob. run forever. I opted for the latter, and no probs since.
