Hi fellow Fchatters in HK. I am concluding a business trip and will be in HK for one night on Friday Feb 20. I am looking for a fun club to hang out in in HK (bottle service, etc). Spent last weekend in Macau and ended up at D2 until the early hours of the morning. Had a lot of fun there (Jack Daniels does that to you... ) Any recommendations on where to go in HK this Friday night on short notice? I'll be in Shenzhen until early afternoon and will then take the train to Kowloon. Any help is appreciated. I am planning on not sleeping much before catching my plane back to SFO the next day Kai
The Lan Kwai Fong area near Central on the Island would be a place to start. Not sure about the clubbing scene though... possibly in Wan Chai?
Yeah, I know about those two areas but each have a ton of establishments. I was hoping to get an idea from a "local" what club is hot right now with good music and atmosphere, i.e. dragon-i or C bar, Drop, Beijing Club, etc. Just don't want to spend a lot of time "hopping around". I'd rather get a good tip, buy a bottle or two, settle in and have a good time dancing and drinking. Thanks, Kai
Dragon-i and Drop are still safe bet. Prive, right below D-i is also quite happening. Of course you'll always have Volar/Halo.
I heard there is a new club call Lava, Never been there, but my friend went there for dinner, I believe there are two floors, one is called Lova for Lunch and dinner , the other floor is for clubbing and is called Lava. He told me the food is good and the clubbing floor looked alright. anyone been there? just wondering what is like there? also any other suggestion around the LKF area? my friend will be coming in from england next week, have to show him around town. I don't do clubbing alot, but enjoy good food......
interesting, i get in HK on 20th as well from what i heard, the real "local" joints in kowloon is ghetto. if ur tourists/expats, your safe bet is LKF area. dragon-i is happening on wednesday night and weekend, beijing club, cixi, and another joint or two in the same building they are all the same. i did hit up 2 clubs in wan chai forgot the name, it was ok too, more local less foreigners. p.s. speaking of D2 in macau, 1st time i went there, i thought it was a mis-print when the menu said happy hour was 11pm-1am then when crowds started to coming in at 2am i knew why. did they still have thai gogo dancers?
Spent the last 3 weeks in mainland China. Have been to HK many times but do prefer to stay in the "safe" areas. I think I may try Beijing Club or Cixi. YES, D2 still gets going around 1:30am. Didn't leave that place until 7am myself.... And YES, they still have the thai gogo dancers. They are a fun group. My friend and I bought them a bunch of drinks. Last weekend they also had a special guest: Quanita Mueller, 2006 Erotic cover girl. She and her friend were pretty cool. We got her to sit at our table most of the night!!! Good times Kai
wow we prolly were within few ft of eachother at times. got there at midnight, left 2:30. i think the lime green "5566" LP640 was arriving when u left? we had the corner booth where u can see our view of the gogo dancers. where were you sitting? btw saturday night we hit up billions, it was crazy packed, more local younger crowd though.
