This afternoon on a spirited drive, I encountered a clutch problem when going from 1st to 2nd. I brought the car up to ~6500RPM disengaged the clutch, changed to second, re engaged; and upon up travel, only came up half way. If the car is in neutral and clutch engaged a faint whirring sound is made. It was obvious that the clutch cable had slack in it and I'm unsure of what to do now. Should I just readjust it? Could it be a bigger failure? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds like a stretched or failing cable but check for something binding. If the clutch lever is in the correct position, replace the cable. The air rachet will be your friend The guide wheel where the clutch cable enters the engine bay is the most common wear area.
I believe there is a bind in the cable somewhere, I'll have to crawl under it and see. I'll get back and report my findings Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Whelp, you're right! Cable was bound up between the pulley and shroud! Got it back where it needs to be and threw some dry film on it. Only thing is: because I drove on a slipping clutch for a few miles I may have to adjust the clutch linkage Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
