I had my clutch changed a few weeks ago on my 328 GTS -87, and they told me that I might have to do a second adjustment again after a few miles, since it will ware.

I guess now is the time, since I have difficulties getting the gears in, especially 1st, 2nd and reverse.

I intended to do this on my own, but the question is: -on which of the two adjustment arms should I work ?
I know that one of them (probably closest to the gearbox) is for the actual adjustment, while the second one is for the leveling of the clutch pedal...? Am I right ?
Has anyone some good hints / tips / do's and don't's....?

    Ciao
    Anders

yup, that's right. the owners manual has a picture of the adjust needed, but very few words.

more words can be found in the 308 clutch update tsb (which for posterity is attached). this design was used on the 328 as well.

I just adjusted the clutch on my 87 328 yesterday, there is a service bulletin showing the required adjustment. There are two adjusters near the clutch housing. The requirement is shown in the bulletin, basically you adjust the rear adjuster so that the cable attaching pin is 40-45 mm aft of the fulcrum bolt center line. When you have this setting done then you can adjust the cable to get the pedal position required. There is also an adjuster under the pedal. I think this adjustment is also given in the owners manual.
