Can anyone tell me if this is a DIY, or one HAS to go to the F dealer ? Some say there is some programming and parameters to be adjusted ? Or is this only "when needed", meaning it is OK to change the wear plate ? Rgds Anders
My understanding is it must be done at the dealer. The clutch engagement needs to be adjusted via computer. Other than that, it is the same gearbox as the manual.
Make a call to Jim at Autocura he can probably tell you how much (if any) of the change you can do yourself.
Did it myself 3 years ago and it's still working fine. There is a calibration procedure that can be done without using the Ferrari SD2 computer.
According to Karl Verdi it can be done yourself, would the 'adjustment' be for the point of initial contact? Karl advised that without the SD2 this can be done by starting and immediately shuting the car down 10 times which will allow the clutch to'find' itself, Karl is probably the most experienced dealer/tech in the UK and has helped me several times it was also Karl that advised me on the F1 electric motor change. All things being fine will do my clutch next month.
