While driving today my clutch pedal got soft and then no pressure at all. The clutch was very strong and exhibited no signs of wear. On the bottom side or the clutch housing is a perforated plate with some fluid like brake fluid on it. Any ideas or suggestions

Could easily be a blown slave/clutch throwout bearing.

Brake fluid is the hydraulic fluid used on the clutch...same resevior. Look at your brake fluid resevoir and see if you have any left. YOu may have had a leak and just pumped the clutch dry. May not be a terribly expensive fix. Hopefully you will be able to find your leak easily.

Resevoir is under the front bonnet, left side, under the larger accessory cover (same cavity as the battery switch) all the way to the back.

Check your brakes to make sure a line has not been sliced or ruptured.

See that hose with a bolt on the end of it? Do not take that off :)

Do not get that fluid on your paint (you probably know this....just trying to prevent a disaster by pointing that out). If you get it on there wash it off immediately.
