Can someone please identify this pressure plate? Found it sitting in a 355 Thanks. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The plate with the spring fingers riveted to it, you can see some used ones here. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=ferrari+355+pressure+plate&_sacat=0 The defacto video for DIY. Try some searches as well, replacing clutches is fairly common DIY https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS893US893&ei=ta2AXs7cMourytMPge2GkAM&q=ferrari+f355+clutch+replacement+site%3Aferrarichat.com&oq=ferrari+f355+clutch+replacement+site%3Aferrarichat.com&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQDDoCCAA6BQgAEM0COgYIABAWEB46CAghEBYQHRAeOgUIIRCgAToFCCEQqwJQ3ARYvDpgl1ZoAXAAeACAAWmIAaAKkgEEMjMuMZgBAKABAaoBB2d3cy13aXo&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwiOi-_U77_oAhWLlXIEHYG2ATIQ4dUDCAs
The early 348 was dual plate. Later 348 and 355 were both single plate. Pressure plate will "look" almost identical I imagine.
Did some more digging theres 2 types of clutches for 355s, oem valeo or “italian aftermarket” and this could be the aftermarket one
Same clutch different manufacture, just price difference, they are interchangeable. What are you trying to do here exactly? Figure out where the pressure plate is, determine who made your clutch, replace the clutch, rebuild the clutch, fix a problem with the clutch etc?
Oh was just curious after the clutch job saw the old clutch looked nothing like the replacement oem valeo unit haah. This pressure plate look like a steel unit while the oem valeo unit look like its made of aluminum.
It looks like the Borg and Beck single plate clutch from my 1993 348 Spider (OCL3403000). I had what sounded like a release bearing squeal - but it looks like my pressure plate fingers have just bent back somewhat shockingly. Lucky to have got back from Scotland - though had minimised gear changes and enthusiasm to so do. Paul. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
hopefully just similar design, other wise one of the previous owners installed a 348 single plate clutch kit in my ex 355F1 Heard parts for these cars are quite affordable over there in the UK, hopefully you can get in running again in no time!
