Brief History: Not having found any traces of brake fluid on my garage floor or around my vehicle after the pedal went limp, I concluded, perhaps wrongly, that the source of the problem was the clutch master cylinder. I proceeded to order a replacement cylinder from Scuderia Auto Parts and installed it without a problem. A Hill Engineering throwout bearing had been installed successfully two years ago.

Now for the bad news: Every suggestion and possible method to bleed the system submitted by members of this forum has been tried without success. I have used the MOTIVE power bleeder, the mittyVac and I have pumped at least half a gallon of fluid through the system. Fluid comes out clean with no air bubbles and the pedal still goes all the way to the floor. I have tried to bleed the master cylinder by cracking the main line with the same result.

At this point, is it possible to have a defective cylinder? I thought perhaps about removing it and installing a new repair kit; a lot off trouble but I wouldn't mind doing it. I am willing to try whatever suggestion. Please HELP!!!

    Did you bench bleed it?

Also, the 348/355 clutch MC is a parts bin item, $50 part. Throwing money away buying it in a horsey box

Yep, all you have to do is bleed MC on the bench, then refit the plugs whilst fitting back in the car.
You can also fit the MC into the car connect everything up and bleed the MC by cracking the line on the output of the MC whilst you have someone pump the pedal....
If you do not bleed the MC, you will never be able to push the fluid through, its as simple as that.

I have some rubber plugs I put on the lines so the fluid doesn't run out, you need to do this especially on the clutch system in the 348 due to the way it runs through the car...

You do not need to use a pressure bleeder, they are not always the "magic bullet" people think they are, its all about technique.

I thought I had tried all of that. Perhaps I need to be more persistent and bleed, and bleed... Thank you for your input.

Remove the fluid line from the clutch MC and plug the MC (without letting fluid out). Then see if you can depress the pedal. If the pedal is firm the problem is elsewhere.
