Question regarding the DCT on the FF and F12. Do these clutches wear? With the 612, there was the looming clutch replacement down the road at 15-20K (depending on how you drive). Question with the DCT, is there no concern of clutch replacement ever? (Absent Launch Control everyday of course). Also, I'm in the market for a used FF... should I be requiring a clutch thickness reading? Thanks all
Double clutch "doesn't wear" and lasts the lifetime of the car says Ferrari. I am pretty sure there is no clutch wear measurement. Fwiw, many do not believe that DCT is a lifetime part...there have been issues with some (in the Cali and 458) and not many (if any) of these have seen much mileage in the hands of owners...so who knows... Almost 30K Miles in a California, 18K in a second Cali and now almost 24K miles in my FF driving it like it is a rental car and no problems, and I don't expect any problems! Yes there have been a few people with problems but a very few! All of my cars have seen Launch Control multiple times too. In fact the fastest runs down the 'Michigan Mile' were doing a launch and stop just before the real launch on the measured mile run. Rick
They should last a very long time... indefinitely. The only downside I know of is a small drivetrain loss by comparison to a dry clutch. In theory an FF outfitted with a traditional dry clutch would be slightly quicker. (Don't change it out though).
