I was recently sent a JPG of a clutch reading that said "usura frizione" 31.7%. Does that mean there was 31.7% of the clutch used or 31.7% left?

    Thanks!

Translates to "friction wear", so I'd guess 31.7% used

I would think that a new clutch would have a reading of 100%, not 0%, but I'm just guessing.

The reading for the clutch in the 348 manual says "Limite di usura disco frizione mm 1,5". Or "clutch plate wear limit mm 1,5" This apparently means that the disc should be replaced when it has only 1.5mm of friction material remaining on one side. I don't know why your JPG would show the specification in percentages instead of in mm. That seems silly to me.

Sorry, I think I'm wrong in my earlier post. The total thickness of a new 348 disc is given as 7.7mm, with a wear limit of 1.5mm, which means that it should be replaced when the total thickness is down to 6.2mm.

How does that translate to percentages? Percentage of what? Total thickness? Thickness of the friction material alone? I'm confused.
