So I've had my 360 for a couple of months and put about 1,000 miles on it. Driving it yesterday I notice my downshifts slow down the car more than my braking. I enjoy the sound of the blip. My question is, am I wearing the clutch faster this way oppose to down more by braking and just downshift because the RPM's are getting too low. I hope the question makes sense.

If I was driving a stick, I wouldn't notice the car slow down significantly when downshifting, but with the F1 it's very obvious that a downshift slows the car down. Say coming of an exit ramp on a highway for example.

If you didn't match the revs on a stick downshift you might notice the decell more. Not sure I understand your question though.

I guess the question is, it feels like I'm doing more engine braking than actual braking with the brakes. I didn't regularly rev match with a stick - maybe that's the difference? Just curious if I am in fact doing more engine braking and if so, is that bad?

I doubt that you are doing any damage, but if your engine breaking is that great, you may be downshifting into too low of a gear.

On a manual intentionally letting the revs die before engaging the clutch so as to let the engine slow the car will wear the clutch. If you are adept enough at rev matching so that the engine speed and road speed are matched as the clutch is engaged then this will not wear the clutch and the engine compression will then slow the car as you lift off the accelerator pedal.
The latter is what the F1 system does better.

Since the computer rev matches for downshifts, I can't see it causing any excessive clutch wear, regardless of how much engine braking there is. If you're overly concerned about wear, just shift to neutral and brake to a stop rather than letting it downshift through all the gears.

Full rev matching is only in Sport for the 360 and Race for the F430.
