    Hi Chaps

I'm going to be putting a new clutch in within the next few months (F355 Berlinetta) and have a quick question for you learned fellows.

    a) Flywheel - replace with new or just get it skimmed? Dealer doesn't seem excited on getting it skimmed.
    b) Thrust bearing - replace with the clutch, or not really needed? OEM or Hill Engineering?

Car does very low miles so I'm not fussed if the Hill replacement gets 100,000 miles and the OE is only good for 50,000.

    Thanks fellas.

EDIT - Thrust bearing was replaced approx 15,000 miles ago (15 years ago). Unsure if with OEM, but I presume so.

    Which model year F355?

    a) Flywheel - it is very possible for a machinist to resurface if needed
    b) Thrust bearing - I'd go OEM for components after having gone hill engineering. With an early 2.7 car to work the Hill engineering clutch bearing, you need to widen spring platform, which means milling components or going with the hill engineering bearing support flanges, which may or may not fit. I had to mill off a lip to get everything to work. Ultimately put in a ton of work and $ when I could have just gotten an OEM part and been happy with it.

    Thanks. It’s a 1995 2.7.

I installed the Hill Engineering throwout bearing and slave cylinder on my 1995 2.7 and it fit just fine. As for the flywheel, I would have it checked to see if it is within tolerance before machining it.
