    Hello from Germany,

for those who look forward to the 1:18 250 SWB from CMC; there are now advertisements in german classic car magazines.
Don't ask; I have neither any clue whether the die-cast is out now, nor - if not - when it will come.
Just wanted to show you the first picture I have seen.

    Best Regards

    Martin

Hi i'm David i have the CMC Maserati 250 F and i pre-orderd this Ferrari 250 from CMC a while ago but now i finnaly now a bit how it looks. And i must say on this picture it looks great and what i have experienced is that these CMC models look better in real, than on the picture. So it must be really good.

    PS:sry for my bad english

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the difference between this model and the one from Hot Wheels?

Is it "just" more attention to detail or is it a different car?

Not that old really. I would have thought they still sell it.

I'm not too familiar with vintage Ferraris, so maybe I'm mixing here something up, but I thought I already have that car. Have to check tonight.

The photos dont make justice to the CMC models, i have not seen the SWB yet but for example the Maserati is fantastic.

Hot wheels makes zillions of the 250 GT Lusso, assembled by chinese workers for $ 0,50 / hr. They sell it over here for $ 40.--

CMC makes now a small bunch of the 250 SWB, assembled in China for $ 0,50 / hr. They sell it over here for $ 225,--

What can one say ? Nice piece though.

    Best Regards from Germany

There's a 1:18 SWB from Joueff, but that doesn't come close to this one.

Here we go again: Why do manufacturers release models of the same cars instead of picking one that hasn't been made? There are so many great Ferraris out there and no model exists.
    <sigh>

To my knowledge, there is no SWB from HotWheels... If there were, the difference between between the HW version and the CMC model would be like the difference between a kitcar and a real Ferrari (1:1).

Exoto makes some of the finest 1:18 models out there, and from what I've heard, these CMCs are even better.

The only thing i wish they did was to make a competition version. Maybe even with different liveries of the famous swb's. Will this be the only one they make and will they make it in only red?

Well the GT Lusso looks very much like the SWB to me. Granted there are differences and I'm sure this model will be a lot better, but still.

There are so many Ferraris out there where no model exist, why have three companies do one for this car? And I love the 250 GT, but one model is really all I need.

The one thing I'm not excited about (so far) from those pics was the shot of the rear of the car. The exhuast pipes (the tips, actually) weren't parallel with the ground. Now...if that's how it is on a real 250SWB, I stand corrected and blown away by CMC's attention to detail. If the tips are crooked on the model only, however, I'm disappointed. I guess we'll have to just wait and see...

The steering wheel rim is also too thick. I have no idea whats wrong with those exhausts. They look a bit wonky. Incredible detail though. I'll definatley be getting this one :)

Oh absolutely - it's a no-brainer that it'll be sitting on my shelf one day - the 250SWB is one of my favorite 1:1 Fcars of all time. The steering wheel rim is of less concern to me, as it's (IMO) less aesthetically important (on a 1:18 model...maybe not so on a 1:1) than exterior brightwork, and specifically wheels, front grills, and exhuast tips.
