http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thOxW19vsTg I did not see a post on this, but it was pretty cool. The uses are endless.
Back in 2001 my thesis for technology in the classroom included interactive holographic projection. As I watched it on CNN it was cool seeing that concept come to light (pun intended).
"Luke, I am your father" Seriously, wait till they start using holographic hard drives You think computers are fast now.
Holographic HD technology sounds pretty impressive, Can't ait to see the progress that will be made with that.
It's not a real hologram. It's just the same old green-screen compositing that's been standard for years, except they're doing it from multiple angles and synchronizing the cameras in her location with the cameras in the CNN studio so they can do a more convincing job of inserting her into the footage. Wolf Blitzer couldn't actually see anything in the studio, he was just staring into space. Lame as hell, if you ask me.
Well that just takes all the fun out of it Thanks for the info. I was getting excited. Oh well, back to the rear ends thread.
