OBTW - The little doo-dad in the upper left hand corner of the front panel above the Hobbs is a CO meter. It's a Flight Surgeon thing, I can't help it.

The symetry and orderliness of a clean radial engine is a sight to behold. I remember seeing so many of them with layers of carbonized oil caked on them and streaks of grease and carbon streaming back on the cowl and nacelles from being run at over boost for too long and yet, the damn things ran smoothly and carried on their duties without too much complaint. The P& W R-1830 and the CW R-1820 won the war in Europe for us. Those and the R-2800 are masterpieces.They are all great engines and that thing in Russ's airplane is a beauty. Switches
