OK, big decision. Do I go solid black coco mats or black with a tan highlight? Here's pix of my interior, and swatches of the mats. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Absolutely agree Coco mats really period match the car - either is great. I must say though, being from that era myself, the tan highlights are soooo 70s! Yeah, baby!
I bought my cocomats at www.autoseattle.com for my '72 BMW. They're only $84.95/pair and the quality and fit is excellent. I received them eight days after I bought them, even though they estimated a two to three week turnaround time. I have heard some bad reports recently about fit and long wait times for www.cocomats.com, so this was a great alternative. Go to http://www.autoseattle.com/coco_mats.htm
Dave- I have seen all the samples in person & I think that the black w/tan would look great. It would really accent the colors in your interior in an unobtrusive way. I had them custom fit the mats to my Dino so the shapes are accurate. However, on the passenger side I did not have it going up the firwall. I have it flat on the floor and not up into the firewall. You can email me off line if u want more details. Champ [email protected]
Unfortunately, they don't have the black/tan combination I'm looking for. I did get a little bit of a nervous making response from cocomats.com when I asked about fitting Ferraris. They mentioned that they don't really want to do them, as they are hard to make fit correctly. Hmmm... time for a google search methinks.
wow...I am very surprised. Jeff Allwine at Cocomats did gorgeous blue ones for my Dino not even two weeks ago. He came out & made templates of the car & they look & fit beautiful. It took him a week to make them & they are really nice. He has the templates that he made from my car ('74 GTS). I was impressed with the quality, service & enthusiasm...
I asked Jeff if he had considered being a sponsor at FerrariChat.com. His response was that Ferrari's are very difficult to fit properly, and they really didn't want to get into that line. He also asked me to check his paper template carefully to make sure the fit was what I wanted. I've had custom mats made from templates I cut at GG Bailey, so I don't think fit will be a problem, it jsut struck me as odd that he was so reluctant to sell to Ferrari guys.
