I thought it was running funny. It had this misfire when cold that was relatively minor, and then smoothed out after it warmed up. The next time I went to start it, it just cranked wih no sign of life. I pulled out the coil wire to put in a makeshift wire attached to a plug as a spark test and noticed the coil wire. It's totally fried. What you can't see is the metal connector is badly cracked on the other side, and looked overheated. The wire part is split open right where it starts to make a natural curve downward. The wire has 2,800 Km on it, and is maybe 8 years old. Gotta hand it to that Marelli ignition. Talk about power.

    Live and learn.

It looks like the wire was not completely crimped to the copper shield, i have seen this occasionally. You might also want to check the screw holding the copper dome of your coil, usually the spark then travels from the wire directly to the head of the screw and blasts out parts of the surface. See attached image after removing the debris.
