I'm not trying to start a what oil is best argument, but my GT4 needs all new suspension. I've ordered the bushings and am looking at springs and shocks at the moment.

It appears that I can get coilovers from anywhere from less money, to 2.5x the cost of redoing the stock setup.

My car is a road car. Where I live, the pavement is absolutely horrible a lot of the time. I'm hoping to make the car as compliant as possible in the city, but still fun at a track day. I also like the idea of being able to fine tune the height a little for taste/looks, but am definitely not significantly lowering the car.

Some of the stuff I've found are:

    QA1 - Birdman Documented

Am I missing any? Has anyone tried either of the Motons? Sure look fancy.

    Thanks,

    Andrew

I have an 88 328 and I went with the QA1 setup that was graciously detailed by Birdman and I’m pretty happy with it. If anything I might have gone a little stiffer on the springs, but I was able to dial up the damping/rebound to get a bit more firmness and there is that “around town” compliance thing so I think this is a good balance and it allowed me to lower it about an inch for a better look.

The longer I own the car the more I like the stock Ferrari spring rates. They may be very soft but the car does fine on group drives and the Virginia City Hill Climb. Yeah, it keels over like a sailboat but it still grips like crazy.

I would expect that increasing spring rates may “modernize” the feel of the car but would not improve cornering performance much.

After several years of SF springs and 1-1/2 turns on the Koni shocks. I reverted to the OEM springs and 1/2 turn on Koni shocks. Much happier now, Also I when with Poly lower on all 4 corners.

I have the eibach springs and QA1 shocks and I believe the nick forza bushings. In process of installing. Seemed to be the popular option when I was looking. New novalari as exhaust as well.

My experience has been most aftermarket shocks/coil overs are stiffer regardless of how they are adjusted. If you want compliance on bad roads stick to the OEM setup. Cheers.

    Thanks for the input everyone!

I ended up finding some OEM take offs from a 308. I'm going to rebush and run those for now. I believe the spring rates for the rear are slightly different.

I'll run these for the 2022 season and regroup.

I understand that they tend to default to a pretty heavy spring.
