    A real shame and Bud was a real American hero. I saw him at the Eglin AFB Beach Club (blown away by a hurricane eventually) several times and always bought him a drink. His bar bill was never too high because everybody felt the same way I did. Rest in peace. He paid his dues the hard way.

    I was fortunate enough as a young flight surgeon to know and care for him and his family on occasion. There was NO finer man, officer or American. He was the real deal. There can be no overstatement.
